Crestline Ambulances Introduces New CCL 166 Type I at EMS World Expo 2026
October 1, 2026
September 30, 2026 – Van Wert, OH: Today, Crestline Ambulances debuts the all-new CCL 166 Type I model at EMS World Expo in Orlando, Florida. Named a 2026 EMS World Innovation Award finalist, the CCL 166 is designed around the people delivering care. The larger configuration provides crews with more room to work, increased equipment storage and comfort-focused improvements from the cab to the patient compartment. For fleet operators, it delivers the practical, dependable, and serviceable platform expected from Crestline.
The CCL 166 Type I brings the expanded 166-inch module—first introduced on the CCL 166 Type III at EMS World Expo 2025—to a Ford F-450 chassis. Compared with the CCL 150, its module is 16 inches longer, creating a more open patient-care environment while retaining the streamlined systems, serviceability and fleet consistency that define Crestline.
The additional space is strategically used throughout the vehicle. A repositioned airway station moves 10 inches forward, providing six additional inches of legroom and easier access to the MMC electrical controls. Streetside cabinetry offers 16% more interior storage volume, while the full-width ALS compartment provides 38% more storage than the CCL 150 Type I and eliminates bulkhead intrusion. A squad bench that is six inches wider improves multi-occupant comfort, while available rear-action area storage provides greater seating flexibility.
“The CCL 166 Type I gives crews room where it matters most—room to move, organize equipment and remain focused on the patient,” said Kris Turner, U.S. Channel Development Director for Crestline Ambulances. “Its standardized design and serviceable systems also provide fleet leaders with the predictability they count on every day. Being named a 2026 EMS World Innovation Award finalist further validates the practical innovation behind this new model.”
Crew comfort extends into the cab. The redesigned console features armrests, deeper radio and accessory slots, dedicated laptop, map and clipboard storage, faster USB charging and a larger seven-inch touchscreen positioned closer to the dash for easier access. Cab seating also provides three additional inches of recline, helping crews remain comfortable between calls and during long shifts.
The CCL 166 Type I carries forward Crestline’s proven standards, including aluminum extruded body construction, aluminum cabinetry, CrestCoat powder-coat technology with a limited lifetime paint warranty, the MMC multiplex electrical system, flush-mount windows, four-inch radius corners and a module designed for future remounting.
Attendees can experience the CCL 166 Type I beginning today at Crestline’s booth, #1601, at the Orange County Convention Center. Those unable to attend can learn more at CrestlineAmbulances.com/us/ambulances/ccl-166.
